lui is examines the position of the performer within the act of interpretation. The work departs from the question of how personal identity operates when performing music composed by others.

Rather than focusing on expression or emotion, lui is approaches interpretation as a process of translation. The performer navigates between instruction and decision, between what is written and what is perceived. Through this process, individuality appears not as decoration but as an unavoidable component of execution.

lui is studies the moment where control and autonomy intersect, where the performer’s own presence becomes part of the composition itself.
